Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Wendell has always had a passion for the arts. He attended Dekalb School of the Arts where he studied dance, vocal music, drama, musical theater, media, and music production. During his time in high school, he attended DanceMakers of Atlanta under the direction of Lynise Heard and Denise Latimer. In the Spring of 2015, he graduated from The University of the Arts with a BFA in Dance, under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield.
Among many opportunities, he has performed in works choreographed by William Forsythe,  Netta Yerushalmy, Sharon Eyal, Doug Varone, Cindy Salgado, Mark Caserta, Tommie Waheed, and Helen Simoneau.  In the summer of 2013, Wendell was awarded a choreographic residency at San Francisco Conservatory of Dance.
Upon graduating, Wendell received the Pennsylvania Ballet Choreography Award. In 2016, he competed in the Capezio A.C.E. Awards and was on guest faculty at Broadway Dance Center. He was an Artist in Resident at Chez Bushwick in the summer of 2017.
Wendell has shown work through Movement Research at Judson Church, Fall Movement at CPR, Bronx Academy of Arts & Dance, and REVERBdance Festival. He has also work with Pennsylvania Ballet II, Philadanco II, and Periapsis Music and Dance.
Wendell is currently a dance artist with Jonah Bokaer Choreography and has performed at Brooklyn Academy of Music, Joyce Theater, Guggenheim Museum, Pulitzer Foundation, and Krannert Center for Performing Arts. He is also a dancer and collaborating artist with Christal Brown, Baker-Tarpaga Dance Project, J. Bouey, and Phoebe Berglund.
